We design school journeys that are safe, purposeful, respectful and memorable on the ground. Our work focuses on project-based school tours in Vietnam, especially in the Mekong Delta, Central Highlands and Northwest Vietnam.
From Field Experience To Educational Journeys
Education Journeys was founded by Ryan Truong, Long Nguyen and Sara Phan, three people who share a strong belief that travel can become one of the most powerful forms of education.
Ryan Truong and Long Nguyen grew up together, studied at university together and began their careers as tour guides before entering the school tours and educational travel industry in 2011. Their early years were spent on the road, guiding students, teachers and international travelers through cities, villages, rivers, mountains, schools and local communities across Vietnam.
Sara Phan brings an important educational and international perspective to the founding team. Before moving to the United States, she was a university lecturer in Vietnam, giving her a strong understanding of students, learning environments and the value of education beyond the classroom.
Why We Started
The founders learned that a meaningful school journey is not created only by a beautiful itinerary. It is created through human connection, careful planning, cultural understanding, safety awareness and genuine care for every student group.
Together, they created Education Journeys to help schools design programs that are not only educational on paper, but also practical, safe, respectful and memorable on the ground.
For schools, this means working with a partner who understands both the learning purpose and the reality of operating student journeys in the field. Every route, community visit, service project, safety briefing and reflection session must be planned with care.
Our background as tour guides, educators and program designers allows us to connect classroom goals with real-world experiences across Vietnam.

Ryan Truong
Founder
Ryan has been involved in school tours and educational travel since 2011. With a background as a tour guide and destination specialist, he brings strong field experience, local knowledge and program design expertise to Education Journeys.
Long Nguyen
Co-Founder
Long brings practical experience in student travel, group operations and on-ground coordination. His work supports safe, well-paced and realistic school journeys for student groups in Vietnam.
Sara Phan
Co-Founder, Americas Partnership Outreach
Sara was a university lecturer in Vietnam before moving to the United States. She currently supports outreach and partnership development in the Americas, helping connect Education Journeys with schools, families and educational partners.
